This is the newest national cemetery. It is located between Tehachapi and Bakersfield. It is on land donated by the Tejon Ranch. It is quite beautiful there with a lot of wildlife. It is still very small but there are a lot of graves already.
I have only visited three national cemeteries in recent years. It sure is a sobering experience. We owe such a debt to those who served. I wrote a story about it a couple of years ago for anyone interested in seeing additional photos: Bakersfield National Cemetery
